Confessions

I Feel Inadequate

Bottom Line: Our God is bigger than our inadequacies.
2 Corinthians 12

  • I'm not important enough, big enough, strong enough, or not able to hand what comes my way.
  • I want to be so in awe of my king, my creator, that I can't help but be excited because my God is bigger than my inadequacies.
  • I have inadequacies and I have failed in so many ways but there is a God that is much bigger than my inadequacies.
  • I am inadequate and I don't but it but I am trusting in a king.
  • If you knew the real me you wouldn't be coming to me with your problems asking for my advice.
  • The reality is we are inadequate in every single way. There will always be someone that can do more, work more, lift more, taller, skinnier, smarter, prettier and there will always be someone more spiritual.
  • But he said to me, "My grace is enough for you. When you are weak, my power is made perfect in you." Therefor, I am very happy to brag about my weaknesses. Then Christ's power can live in me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
  • Whenever you see the word(s) "therefor" or "so that", listen up because it's getting to the main point.
  • Paul had a thorn, he felt weak and inadequate because he begged for the lord to remove it. Could is be that God aloud Paul to struggle so it wouldn't be all about Paul. Because paul had a weakness the church stands today.
  • **Christ is Glorified when we are weak**
  • When we are inadequate, when we can't handle it, Christ is there to fill in the gaps.
  • What is your thorn, what is holding you back, what's that thing that when you go to do something great for God that you say "Oh, he can't use me"?
  • Think you're inadequate? Noah was a drunk, Abraham was too weak, Issac was a day dreamer, Jacob was a liar, Leah was ugly, Moses had a stuttering problem, Gideon was afraid, Samson was a womanizer, Rehab was a prostitute, Jeremiah and Timothy were to young, David was suicidal, Isaiah preached naked, Jonah ran from God, Naomi was a widow, Job went bankrupt, and Peter denied the son of God, the disciples fell asleep while praying, Martha was a worrier, the Sameritan woman was divorced, Zacchaeus was to small, and Paul was to religious, oh, and he killed people. God used these people to shake the very foundation of hall. God used these people to set forth his kingdom and he used them in-spite of their weaknesses. He used them because they were weak.
  • God is waiting to use our weaknesses to display his glory. Are you willing to let him use your weaknesses?
  • Why do we tend to hang on to the bad stuff and give God the good stuff. He is waiting for us to focus on him and let go of our rubbish. Even our good stuff, isn't that good. He wants that thing we don't wanna give him. Christ wants it ALL!
  • Christ said "I consider the past things rubbish compared to the excellence of knowing Christ".
  • He is waiting for us to focus on him, ignore our inadequacies, and allow his name to be great.
  • Our weaknesses + His power = His Glory If we could live our lives with that perspective, the church would be unstoppable.
  • The first time Jesus came he came as a sacrificial lamb, BUT the second time he is coming as the LION!
  • Christ came in frailty so Gods power will be known!
  • God uses what seems weak to display his power, to display his Glory.
  • He's waiting for us to trust him. What's holding you back?
  • When we focus on Christ our failures fade away.

Confession

I Struggle With The Same Sins Over and Over Again

Don't live in a prison of regret when God has set you free through His Grace. Your past now has no power over you! @Soul_Caffeine
Deuteronomy 7

I struggle with the same sins over and over again. I lay them down at the feet of Jesus but then I pick them right back up. We all do this, we want him to help us and guide us and give us freedom through his grace but we keep picking up the sames sins, not fulling giving them to our Lord and Savior.

What we tell ourselves is "My sins are bigger and stronger than I am" so we have an excuse to not have to work on them, but these thoughts and excuses are lies from Satan himself. On the other hand though, if we didn't struggle we wouldn't need God at all because everything would be fine. There's three steps to destroying sin; Hate it, Starve it, Outsmart it. Little by little you will be able to destroy the sins out of your life and you're willing to work at it and trust God to help. Deuteronomy 7:22

I'm always going to be a sinner, it's just the world we were born into, but as soon as I accept Gods forgiveness and help to get me through my sins I'll finally be set free. "I know you sinned I know you screwed up, but what my son did on the cross is enough. Don't run from me, run to me" -God
